Schertz Homes for Sale & Real Estate Experts

Schertz runs along I-35 northeast of San Antonio, bordering JBSA-Randolph, with a mix of established neighborhoods and newer subdivisions.

Location

Schertz spans parts of Guadalupe, Comal and Bexar counties [verify], stretching from the I-35 corridor south toward I-10. FM 3009 and FM 78 are key local roads, and the city's location between San Antonio and New Braunfels makes it a frequent pick for corridor commuters.

Housing

Older sections near FM 78 have 1970s and 1980s brick ranch homes. Newer subdivisions along FM 1518 and north of I-35 offer production-built homes from the 2000s onward. Most lots are standard suburban sizes, with a few larger-lot pockets.

Parks and places

Pickrell Park, the Schertz Aquatic Center and the city's trail network serve residents, and The Forum shopping center sits just across the line in Selma. Randolph's historic Taj Mahal building is visible from parts of town.

Commutes

I-35 heads south into San Antonio and north to New Braunfels, while Loop 1604 and FM 3009 connect toward I-10. Randolph is minutes away for those working on base.

Notes for sellers

Military buyers are a regular part of the Schertz market, so VA appraisal readiness is important: working utilities, safe stairs and railings, and no peeling paint in older homes.

Because Schertz crosses county lines, tax rates and appraisal districts vary by address; include the right figures in your listing. Proximity to Randolph flight paths can also come up with buyers, so disclose noise considerations accurately.

Schools

For school boundaries and information, visit the official district sites: Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD, Comal ISD. Always confirm the school assignment for a specific address with the district.
